Porsche had already officially unveiled a new battery electric macan in 2021 with a series of test images. However, as development continues in Austria, pre-production prototypes provide clues about what to expect from the final car.

Design

Numerous design adjustments make the Macan EV stand out. A sleek headlamp is visible and there is no physical grill, which lowers the air intake. The loop line is also lower than today's macan and looks like a coupe, but the rear part seems to have been subtly reconstructed.

 

 There are more changes from within. With the use of electrical power, conventional gear shifters have been removed to establish a softer, more orderly center console with a small rotary knob (probably intended to control a large central infotainment screen) and a climate-controlled touchscreen.

 

 

 

Porsche's Next generation

 Porsche's next-generation PCM 6.0 communication system will feature as well as a complete digital curve gauge cluster. At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Julian Baumann, Porsche's SUV director, confirmed that the existing gasoline engine Macan will continue to be sold with the new Macan in the transition stage. This product broadly reflects what Tycan and Panamera Duo offer.

 

 The electric macan will be released later this year and will initially be a high-performance model, with the same turbo badge attached to identify the top-level version. Based on Volkswagen Group's new premium platform electric (PPE) architecture, developed on the J1 platform in Tycan, it allows for the physical flexibility required when low sludge GT and high ride-hailing SUVs share the same hardware.

 

 The platform is currently reserved for Audi and Porsche models, and the Audi will be used in the Macan EV's Q5 brother model, called the Q6 E-Tron. The Macan EV employs a four-wheel rolling method using a motor that drives each axle. The strongest version can potentially provide about 700 hp, but Porsche is expected to maintain performance distance from the Tycan.

 

 The electric macan comes in a variety of outputs, but the two most powerful versions come with turbo and turbo S badges, just like the taikan. In addition to providing excellent on-road handling, the high precision provided by electronic control of motors and wheels allows the Macan EV to be very effective off-road.
